89.00 DHفي محاكاة لا تُخفى لكتاب (ألف ليلة وليلة)، يعمدُ الروائي الاسكوتلاندي (روبرت لويس ستيڤنسون) إلى خلق عوالم حكائيّة أشبه بعوالم (شهرزاد) وهي تروي حكاياتها المترادفة. فيكتب في نهاية حكايته الأولى أن مؤلّفه العربيّ هو الذي روى الحكاية، ثم يعقب بعبارة تشير إلى أنه سيروي بعدها، وعلى غرار ديك الصباح وسكوت شهرزاد عن كلامها المُباح؛ حكاية أخرى ستُشير بصريح العبارة إلى ما قبلها من أحداث، ومع نفس الشخوص، وكذا الأمرُ مع الثالثة.
يتضمّنُ هذا الكتاب ثلاثاً من أقاصيص ستيڤنسون المتسلسلة. التي ضمّها مع عددٍ من الحكايات المُشابهة في مؤلفه ذي المجلّدين (الليالي العربية الجديدة). وعلى الرغم من أن أحداثها كانت تدور في أوروبا الحديثة (النصف الثاني من القرن التاسع عشر)، إلا أنه كان يرسم فيها، وبأسلوب خاصّ به، صلةً بالبُنية المتداخلة للحكايات العربية إيّاها.
في مقال لخورخي لويس بورخيس عن الأدب الإنجليزي، تناول فيه أدب ستيڤنسون، يقول: «يتناول عمل روبرت لويس ستيڤنسون – الليالي العربية الجديدة – المُثير للإعجاب موضوع الأمير المتنكّر الذي يجوب المدينة برفقة وزيره وهما يخوضان معاً المغامرات الغريبة. لكن ستيڤنسون اختلق أميره، فلوريزيل من بوهيميا، ورفيقه العقيد جيرالدين، وجعلهما يمشيان في أرجاء لندن. ليست لندن الحقيقية، بل لندن الشبيهة ببغداد، وليست بغداد الحقيقية بل بغداد ألف ليلة وليلة».
